Laurie is an adventurer and festivarian at heart who loves to cook large meals for many friends, travel, get pedicures, and do other fun and active things. She and her husband Tim form The Blackthorn Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit ministry, through which they proclaim the kingdom of God and encourage the church through music, writing, speaking, and building relationships. The Thorntons live with their 12-year-old black lab, Sampson, and their three children in Colorado.
